It’s Monday! What are you reading?

“What are you reading on Mondays” is a weekly event hosted by Sheila that lets you share books you’ve read over the past week and books you have coming up. I found it up on Alita’s blog and occasionally like to play along…

Finished: Nothing

Continued Reading: Bestfeeding by Suzanne Arms,  Chloe Fisher. and  Mary Renfrew. I’ve made a lot of headway on this book and am over halfway through it. I think it might be finished by next week! It’s been both helpful and a little overwhelming…

Started Reading: Flower Net by Lisa See. So late last week it was that time of night when I normally spend a little bit of time reading. I should say, I normally spend this time reading in a nice warm bath – don’t worry – I’m very careful that it’s not too hot for the baby but still relaxing for me! Anyway, I normally read in the tub and have been reading through the Bestfeeding book, but just felt a little overwhelmed and discouraged and not in the mood to put more baby information in my head at the moment. I thought about starting Little Women but the copy I have is one of the largest books I own outside of reference books and I just couldn’t picture myself trying to hold that up while in the tub! So I decided that I would pull a book of the shelf that looked like it would just be fun. And that’s when I pulled this book off the shelf. I’ve wanted to read another Lisa See book ever since I read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and I actually own several that I haven’t had a chance to read yet. This is the first in a 3 part series and is modern day which most of her books are not. It’s a mystery which I enjoy and I jumped right into the first chapter. I’m looking forward to this bit of fun and mysterious reading!

Up Next: Our December/January bookclub book is Little Women, which I read in high school and am looking forward to reading again, but I think I’m going to hold out until December to start reading it – we’ll see – I might need a break from all the childbirth, breastfeeding, and infant care literature!
