My parents came over on Saturday night to have a Father’s Day dinner and then spent the night and went to church with us the next day. When I asked my dad what he wanted his response was, “something I can’t normally have…fried chicken.” So here’s what we did:
Appetizer: Parmesan-Stuffed Dates Wrapped in Bacon
Main Course: Fried Chicken from Smitten Kitchen
Sides: Mashed Potatoes (no recipe because Jeremy makes GREAT mashed potatoes)
Fried Okra (also no recipe – I kind of winged it)
Corn Souffle (my mom made this from Vegetarian Times but I can’t find the recipe! – it was good!)
Dessert: Apple pie with cream cheese center (my mom again – this pie is amazing!)
And the next morning for breakfast I had to try The Pioneer Woman’s The Best Coffee Cake. Ever. Wow – that’s all I can say.
