Sewing News and Henrietta Turtle

I was looking through my blog yesterday (which by the way, I’m sorry I’ve been such a blog slacker lately!) and realized if you just started reading you probably think I do nothing crafty at all! It’s been quite some time since I posted a sewing project. Granted, that’s because I’ve done very little sewing the last couple months. At the last sewing day I hemmed curtains and although technically there was a rotary cutter, an iron, and a sewing machine I don’t really consider hemming curtains the ‘sewing’ – at least not the fun kind! But alas, this last week I did make time to sew a project. I wanted to share with you today but I need to locate my camera cord! It’s not something overly exciting, in fact it’s a small pattern I’ve used before but it was still a sewing project! Maybe tomorrow I’ll get to post about it. But just so you know, I still sew…and hopefully between now and Christmas there will be more projects being made (there better be because I just bought fabric this last week!).

090921_HenriettaFrontCvrOn a different sewing note, have you seen Heather Bailey’s new pattern?! How cute is that turtle? She has these adorable kits available here and the pattern is available here. I don’t know how much I’m willing to spend in order to make a pincusion…but I just might be willing to buy one of these kits! They are so cute! And I don’t know if you knew this about me, but when I was younger I had pet turtles (you know the little ones that like to stack on top of one another). Anyway, super cute – these would be a great stocking stuffer for me! (hint, hint…I never know if Jeremy reads this so I better start hinting now!)
