My Mom and my aunt have made granola for years and I decided it was finally time for me to do it since I buy it every week at the store! It was so easy. I had to buy quite a few little items for it but it makes a lot so it makes it a good value. You just mix it all together and then bake it for 15 minutes. I like this too because it’s softer than the granola that I buy at the store which is sometimes too crunchy.

Granola – recipe from my Aunt Sharon!

6 cups oats (regular)
2 cups wheat germ (raw and refrigerated or the bottled kind in the cereal aisle)
1 1/2 cups almonds, raw and whole
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp cloves
1 cup sunflower seeds, raw and unsalted
1 1/2 cups of flaxseed meal
1/2 cup oil
1 cup of honey
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup raisins or craisins (I used dried cranberries and golden raisins) – hold until after baking
1 cup of dried apple – hold until after baking oil.

Mix dry ingredients (except fruit). Mix oil, honey, and vanilla together and pour over dry ingredients. Spread on 2 cookie sheets. Bake at 300 degrees, for 15 minutes, stiring halfway through. Cool on wax paper. Add dried fruit. This can be refrigerated (because of wheat germ) or frozen. If leaving out any ingredients you can add a bit more oats to absorb the liquid.
