Weekend Update with Ellie Kirkland

Hi! I hope you had a good weekend! Here’s a little update from the Kirkland home:

Friday night: Halloween. I went and picked up Chinese food for us to eat…two of Jeremy’s friends came over to hang out with him. I was hanging out a little until our crazy neighbor came over to scare our dog and scare of any children that were planning to trick-or-treat at our house!I try to love people, I really do, but when your redneck neighbor is yelling to you from across the street, from his rooftop – that’s weird then he sneaks over to our porch and jumps through the bushes, totally hammered, screaming the f-bomb, and waving a plastic sword at my dog who was freaking out – that’s just about all I can take. I went inside. Jeremy, on the other hand, is much more patient than I am. And from the stories they told after he left, it’s probably better that I had gone inside. So I pretty much just laid around and watched movies on tv…

Saturday. I love that I get to sleep in a little (although I almost always get up when Jeremy does since he works on Saturdays). I made coffee and French toast. I thought I’d throw in a movie while I ate breakfast. We had purchased Casino Royale a couple of months ago because it was like $3 so I decided to finally watch, not knowing that the movie is like 2 1/2 hours long! After picking the house up and working on the laundry (which there was a lot of because our dog had gotten sick the night before and vomitted on the bedspread in the middle of the night – yuck, oh but wait, it gets worse!). Jeremy came home and went to eat a little pizza, get Starbucks, and go grocery shopping. Saturday evening I got the baking bug and made muffins and cookie dough. Jeremy came home later and brought David with him. As I lounged on the couch holding our sad little puppy the guys were doing some kind of manly house repair. At this moment little Turner chose to vomit all over me! And it was the most vomit I’ve ever seen come out of a little dog – gross! It was all over me and all over Turner and the couch and the floor (luckily we had a blanket over the couch at the moment so that wasn’t so bad) – off to the shower for me and Turner…I don’t know if I can have kids…I went to bed pretty soon after that episode!

Sunday. I got up and rushed off to church because it was my first week with the HCBC PF middle schoolers. I got to church only to find out that middle school is second hour! Well, I could have stayed and gone to the service, but Jeremy had decided the night before to take the morning off, so I went home and ate homemade breakfast tacos with Jeremy and David, waited for them to get ready and went back to church. My middle school time was pretty good – jr high is crazy, but I still love it. After church – nap, a much longer one than I anticipated. I woke up and made myself the turkey hash that I posted about previously. Then off to sewing! I finished up part of a gift I’ve been working on for a baby shower I’m going to on Saturday and then I finally finished the purseĀ I had cut out before we moved! I’ll try to post pictures tonight! Overall, I felt like it was a very productive evening!

Have a marvelous Monday!
