Well, as I mentioned earlier, last week was quite busy for me. With Back Yard Bible Clubs last week I had to work late most days last week and was so tired after I got home that made it to bed by 9:30 every night! So, I was quite excited when Friday came! I made it home from work just a few minutes before Jeremy and after taking the dog out we left the apartment. Jeremy had purchased tickets for us to go see Hancock that night (we talked about how many movies we’ve seen in the theater together since we’ve known each other and we determined that this was our 4th after the Narnia, Dukes of Hazzard, and The Bee Movie). We decided to go try out this new sushi place that is near the theater for a little dinner before the movie. We only had an hour, so we sat at the bar to enjoy happy hour. Side note: I’ve pretty much decided that I will not be drinking alcohol very much any more (not that I had it very much anyway), I’m already so tired most of the time that to give me a drink will pretty much just make me fall asleep. So the new plan is that anytime someone asks me if I want a drink, I will instead order a caffeinated beverage as a replacement! All that to say I didn’t enjoy the beverage side of happy hour but they had a selection of sushi rolls for 5 dollars each. We only ordered one roll (and then wished we ordered 2) but their computers went down while we were there and so we didn’t get our food until after about a 45 minute wait – dumb for tiny sushi roll and one beer. I think we will try it again, not sit at the bar, and hopefully their computers won’t die again next time! We then went to the theater to see Hancock. I must say, we really enjoyed ourselves. Was it a great movie? Not really. Were there a ton of holes in the storyline? YES. Was it Will Smith’s funniest movie? No. But we still were entertained and had a good time.

Saturday morning I woke a little earlier than normal for a Saturday and got my stuff together and headed over to Amanda’s house for a much anticipated sewing day with Amanda and Beth. I was there from about 9 am – 5 pm and all I have to show is a little apron! I certainly did not anticipate it taking that long (and I had already cut all my fabric out beforehand!). Amanda finished both a tote bag and a skirt in the time that I finished my apron. And Beth finished a lovely green smock/dress. I love to sew and at the same time I hate sewing! Sometimes it’s so hard to not get frustrated. But it is so much more fun to do it with friends! For pictures, check out Amanda’s post and click on the picture of us to see more pictures (there are quite a few of my sewing away and some of me making my ‘frustrated smile face’! That evening I went home to relax. I watched The Princess Diaries 2 on the TV and made Jeremy some cookies he had been asking me for, along with a little bit of laundry and apartment pick up. Jeremy came home later that night with his friend David and watched Shrek until way too late!
Sunday morning brought about some yummy waffles and then I drove down to SW for our last meeting before we go to Mexico next week (more to come on that)! On my way home I debated on stopping at some fabric stores. I first went to Barnes and Noble to get a frappucinoand look through some books (I didn’t buy any). Then I decided to go to Half Price Books where I had a great find! I found a brand new copy of Amy Butler’s In Stitches for just $9! I immediately purchased it (along with 2 $2 DVDs). I then went to meet Jeremy to eat some Curry In A Hurry that he had bought for me. However, after I ate I was still so excited about my new book that I decided to backtrack back to Hancock Fabrics so that I could make something from the book! I was just finished deciding what fabric to get when they announced that the store would be closing in 5 minutes (you’d think that would have announced it 15 minutes before closing, but they didn’t). So I had to take the few things that didn’t need to be cut pay for those, looks like I’ll have to return another day. I purchased several fat quarters that I’m going to use for one of the projects. I then finally headed home to wash my fabric, watch one of my new movies and look through my book over and over again and then go to etsy and think about all the lovely fabric I could buy to make all of the lovely projects in in the book!
All in all – quite a good weekend!
